I love

by Iola   Jan 14, 2008

Living apart, distanced from a man called you
Denying my heart, the calling of your voice so true
Breathing your life, like the air from God above
As sharp as a knife, this beautiful being called love

Ripped apart, by life's responsibility and wrong timing
A stab through the heart, my resort to bleed in rhyming
You exist, my love, the one who has always been there
Refuse to persist, because you respect me, because you care

Your fingertips, each finger of your hand vibrate with mine
Your lips against my lips, I still shiver when I dream of our time
We had, you are more to me than anyone I've ever seen
I'm glad, I'm sad that I keep dreaming about what could have been

At night, I twist and turn at the thought of you living out there
I become light, when I dream of your blue eyes saying you still care
I still feel you, your arms gently wrapped around my each molecule
I need you, but to let you know will make me a selfish fool

With every breath, I love you more than I love this life around me
Even beyond death, it is your face, your smile, your existence that I'll seek
Swimming in the ocean, will now mean making love to what is true
You have my devotion, my trust; my belief; my heart is set on you.
