Living My Fairytale Dream

Since I was just a little girl
I dreamed my prince would come
Sweep me off my feet onto a horse

I'd lay in bed and close my eyes
My fantasies carrying me away
To my fairytale dream beyond the stars
A million miles away

With my knight and shining armour
To protect me through the night
To hold me and to love me
Tell me everything's alright

We'd have perfect, carefree lives
Just you and me
Together forever, the two of us
Living in this fairytale dream

As I grew through the years
I searched but could never find
My perfect prince that completely fit
The description in my mind

Then one day I found you
But you were no knight
You weren't everything I pictured
But being with you still felt right

Our love, it wasn't perfect
Like I always thought it'd be
But I slowly stopped returning
To that fairytale dream

Cause when I look at you
I can see forever in your eyes
And when it comes to loving you
My heart can tell no lies

Still a child, but I no longer need
This fairytale dream of mine
