Boy Among Men

by Evan   Jan 16, 2008

He sits reminiscing on visions of what he was,
the high was over and no longer was there a buzz,
hes behind four walls and its only because,
he walks before he crawls, never thinks before he does.

put the pedal to the metal before hes aged and ready,
attempted murder charge after messin with a machette,
this dudes outta control, he needs to take it steady,
only 16 years old, locked up 10 times already.

his idea of a good time is robbin a liquor store,
raise his gun in the air, everybody to the floor,
now his weapons at the temple, get the money out the drawer,
take no prisoners, and he books it out the door.

gettin high with his buddies is what its all about,
layin on the floor, and there all knocked out,
will he always be the same, yeah without a doubt,
listen here, his lifes bout to take a new route.

after 20 years in prison, he finally made bail,
20 yrs before that he was in and out of jail,
no family left, never one letter in the mail,
with the help of one friend he was determined not to fail.

after a lot of hard work, boy got back on his game,
turned nothin into somethin, even went by a new name,
he was like a completely new person, not one bit the same,
stopped in the mirror and looked what he became.

runnin his own store, earnin money by the pound,
had all the cash in the world, he turned his life around,
one day dude came in his store and with a click of a sound,
put a bullet through his head as he shot em to the ground.

the boy he used to be shot down the man that he was,
this was no high, and this was no buzz,
he chose the wrong path to travel, way back when,
he chose to walk before he crawled, he was a boy among men.
