Life Goes On

by Edward Latina   Jan 16, 2008

Where was your tender touch?
Leaving me to regret much?
How should I live like this?
When you're face haunts my bliss?

I see your face before me,
Your tender smile lifts me.
But you walk away without me,
Life goes on without me.

Here I lay, in this room of sad memories.
Where we had lived and loved,
But you shunned this place like old livery,
I can never see it again unmoved.

I watch the world before me,
It's promises can't touch me.
My promise turned away from me,
Life goes on without me.

I look around with hidden disdain,
They can't see me, no one will care.
I run my fingers through my hair,
Life has dealt its share of pain.

You would have always had me,
Anything you could have asked me.
But you didn't see the true me,
Life goes on without me.

I walk away from this bad dream,
But I know I can never be rid of you.
My waking image, my resting reverie,
Will always be shared by your grace.

I'll never rid of your hold on me,
Your smile will always remind me,
Of times of love with you and me,
Life goes on without me....
