Love is complicated
Yet the words to express it can be simple,
And no matter how cliche it is
On your face appears a dimple.

Yet at the same time
That smile is like a mockery
Of how I truly feel for you
And how you don't feel that way for me.

Am I that revolting, unworthy?
That you fear even a sense of closeness.
Am I that detestable
Or are you just despicable?

I feel like a modern-day leper;
Helpless and restless
Thanks to the confusion your friend brought unto me-
If he should even have that title.
