This is who I am ?

by jessica   Jan 17, 2008

A fatherless child home alone,
Crying out for someone's hand to hold.
A child with a mother who really cares,
Trying to make things oh so fare.
Living on streets with sirens in my ear,
Not being able to get out my fear.
The fear of them coming for me,
For not being the child I should be.
Fighting in school, for no reason,
And being out of practice for an season.
Going to church praising God,
Then going out doing wrong with my bod.
Spending time with my family needs,
Then going out with my friends smoking some weed.
But reality hits me showing me my ways,
Me thinking about the good days.
Days when me and my family would spent together,
Know that things will get better.
3 years have past and I am free,
Free from all humanity.
Now I wrong from right,
And my day just keep getting bright.
I have fall in love with someone so true,
And he doesn't even make me feel blue.
He makes me feel whole, he makes my life complete,
He is someone that you all have to meet.
His name is loud, his name is broad,
His name is Almighty God.
Through this year God has changed me,
Into someone I want to be.
A beautiful successful black young woman,
Knowing right from wrong.
