A January Haiku

New January,
Hopefully a year of peace,
One can only dream.

[I had to write 12 haikus for my creative writing teacher, I'm choosing to post them individually so they can get their own comments and ratings rather than being grouped together.]

A haiku as a 3 line poem,
5 syllables in the first line,
7 in the next,
and five in the last.
