Pained Perfection

by Bee   Jan 18, 2008

The snow covers the lake in a blanket of white.
Ice shimmers as it disappears.
The mountains in the background,
The perfection of a painting.
But in the middle of it all, sits a girl so sad.
Everything in her life gone wrong.
Her father gone,
Her brother might as well be,
And her sister, never there.

All she has is her two real friends,
Out of sight, but never out of mind.
She constantly thinks of them
And what fun they have.

She tries to hide the pain
of living on her own,
having no one to talk to,
being afraid.
She never succeeds.
She covers it up,
With pained perfection,
And false happiness.
She may fool her roommates, but doesn't fool me.
I see through her lies,
And can see her pain,
But she rarely admits to it,
Mentions it in vain.

She tries to deal with it herself,
But doesn't succeed,
And instead turns to pain for help.
She cuts herself,
But doesn't let on,
And hides it from everyone in her life.
She covers up the scars,
Day in, day out,
But never, ever lets on.

She then is discovered,
By two best friends,
Speechless and afraid.
Full of tears and bottled up pain,
And finally lets it all out.

~!! Post to tell me if I should write a sequel/prequel/something to this. I was thinking about it but i don't know. Thanks !!~
