Taking Nature's Hand

by Chenoa   Jan 18, 2008

Sitting in the forest,
Wind wisps across my face.
Green in every which direction,
I want to never leave this place.
Eyes closed to the sunlight,
Body completely unaware,
This feeling is pure bliss,
He who disturbs me must beware.
My senses have all gone now,
I'm under the trees' spell,
Time passes by so quickly,
How much, I cannot tell.
Shade turns into darkness,
My skin's becoming cool,
I know the sun is gone now,
To stay would make me a fool.
But this feeling over powers,
I cannot move a bone,
Muscles are like sand now,
My body left alone.
My mind begins to travel,
My consciousness is gone,
I am forced to remain still,
Until the sun creates the dawn.
As all the beings grow their shadows,
I awake to find you here,
My angel watching over me,
Protecting me from fear.
You see that I'm awake,
You offer me your hand,
I'll hold it tight forever,
As, together, we leave this land.
I look back upon the forest
That held me in it arms,
I shall leave my body here now,
May it receive no harms.
You and I shall be forever,
Hand in hand forever more,
As we slip into eternity,
Never again shall our tears pour.

I like the sensory detail of this piece, and I love how the light and the angel seem to be the same thing in different forms. They both give hapiness in the piece anyway, which linked them together in my mind. Anyway, great symbolism (whether intended or not).
