Rainbow

by Yvonne   Jan 19, 2008

The rain cascades
Like a waterfall
The sun slightly shining
Through a gap in the clouds
The light reflecting
Off little drops
As they spiral to the earth
The colors they give
Bright and beautiful
An arc in the sky
Surrounded by darkness
Giving hope and light
To a desolate landscape

I knew I read that poem somewhere! It was because I read it on here, I just didn't comment on it! haha.

Anyway, I think that poems is pretty. It really describes an image perfectly. I love the part where you say that the rainbow is surrounded by darkness and that it gives hope and light. That reminds me of the rainbows on the Wasatch Mountain. And how it always makes me feel hopeful.

    Excellent write!

I have to say that I really like your poem. I think that the nature section of this site has to be where one can find really wonderfully written poems. They arent old and dull like so may other love poems Im sure even mine fall into that category once in awhile. I found your work very interesting. Keep up the good words and may all your writings bring you peace.

I really enjoyed this poem. The imagery is highly evocative, nature seems fragile at the beginning of the poem but it's uplifting power shines through at the end.
