Spectral Skin

by Forsaken Lullaby   Jan 19, 2008

The moon strikes her spectral skin
The sun has faded beneath the crust of rock
But her eyes lie open
She cannot remember the serenity of sleep
nor the bright lights in her dreams
Her mind is cluttered and chaotic
She does not rest
Her mind spins its webs
Even when the sun is gone
In and out of crevices it does weave
Always crossing itself in a never ending cycle
She continuously wishes for silence in her thoughts
But it never comes
Her eyes glance toward the dreary star lit skies
The specks of light look down upon her
Only thoughts of shame and imperfection
escape their glistening lips
They do not speak kind words
nor look hopefully upon her
She is lost within a world of silence and contempt
She has found no light ablaze to lead her way
No brilliant star to guide her
It would only take one...
to keep her heart abeat against the raging storms
