The Devil Runs

Morality, to you, is a game of chess,
you play black against black, though,
While my white sides digress
Because they don't want to fight or press.

You want to lead
You're ready, you say.
You want us all to bleed
But you say thats not your way.

You make it snow
And you make it rain.
But nobody knows
What falls is fire from the slain.

Again and again
Your words resound my way.
I try to break the chains
But they're more than clay.

Rant and rant
For your own gain.
You always say I can't
Because you think I have no brain.

But I know I can,
So I ignore your chants.
I'll win over every man
After poisoning your plants.

When the devil runs for president
Nobody will be safe.
I fear for all the residents
Who don't expect the strafe.

With your lies that sound like truth
And the youth that follow you.
How can I stand out, uncouth
To take down what you brew?

"We will all be free," you're telling us
With your red eyes that are dressed
And covered in ornaments,hiding that you're possessed.
You won't get my vote, I confess.

You tell us that you're blessed,
But why do I feel so stressed?
When I look into the future you profess
My mind does regress.

Every time you speak i trust you less,
And the love you speak of is suppressed.
Where is your heart's gentle caress?
The fire around you has now transgressed
And I say goodbye to everything i posses.

When the fire fades
With all the shades of gray.
There will be nobody that can wade
Through the blackness and dismay.
