An Effort at Compromising.

by Idiosyncratic   Jan 22, 2008

Is it creative desire that sparks our engineering
Skills that cause fires that desecrate our sneering
Are we proud of our ways or do they hurt us in the end
Do we grief-strickenly gaze when we should run
To each other to love one another
To fall for our brother as he falls for his own
To fight for our rights to live peacefully at home
Our war is not a matter of oil or machines
The war is a religion; the latest social scene

When the creative juices flow through the vaults
Will we search each others' eyes not for love but for
Faults below the enemy's lines
Natural disasters in real time
As we sit beneath our flag with lighters
Our legs crossed tight
And our fingers crossed tighter

When do we stop choosing what to fear
When do we stop losing this stratosphere
That's made mostly of garbage that belongs to anyone
But the age-old adage that says once we've won
The victor is the king and the loser the slave
The slave in our ring of the brave, the depraved
The well-behaved

Our war is not a battle
Of life and death
It's merely a battle
Of who takes the last breath

I really liked the personality and voice in this piece, the flow was also done pretty well. As much as I liked this piece though, I feel like something is missing; I just dont know what it is. could be a personal side note but thought I'd throw it out there.

    Nice write.

I thought overall it was pretty decent, it had amazing flow throughout. I thought some of your rhymes were forced and the face you used tight and then tighter two lines in a row.

"Our war is not a matter of oil or machines
The war is a religion; the latest social scene"

THose were the best two lines by far
    a well deserved 5/5
