Love

by william   Jan 22, 2008

Loving fingers of light at my window,
calling me out to embrace the sky.

Once kissed by heavens glow,
upon a celestial star so high.

Cast aside by the seed to my soul,
abandoned, left to wither and die.

Embedded in a frost protective hollow,
immortally bound no matter how hard I try.

Clouds form to shroud my meadow,
twinkles of sunshine seemingly shy.

Winter songs blow with rain to follow,
peddled fields taking forever to dry.

Reflecting within a glass bowl,
captured tears once held in my eye.

With roots of an old oak as a pillow,
may I fall asleep to the sounds of July.
