Mournful Vision

by Infernus   Jan 23, 2008

Running quick from fiends once man.
clutching a precious vial as best I can.
One of them grabs me, I turn to resist.
raising the pistol clinched in my fist.

The gun bucks inside my hand.
Nightmarish blood flies in scarlet band.
The creatures scream at loss of there own.
I continue to run, I must make it home.

I get inside and bar the door,
race up the stairs to the second floor.
there you lay upon our bed,
your hair sweat stuck to your head.

I race to your side, prepare the syringe.
when the needle enters your arm, I cringe.
holding your hand, I stare into your eyes.
then my world collapses as the light within them dies.

I lay my head upon your breast,
as my heart dissolves in my chest.
How could I have been to late,
to save you from this twisted fate.

I take the gun from the floor.
If I have to live without you. . .
Then I don't want to anymore.
