The Girl And The Grave

by Confined   Jan 24, 2008

She sat
On a stone
With nothing
But her thoughts
To accompany her.

It was odd
For a girl of her age
To stand at a grave day by day,
Somtimes she would even
Sneak in
And sleep
Next to him.

A year had passed,
Yet still she came to visit.
Some would ask "why",
While others ignored it,
But,
No matter what the weather
She would always visit that grave,
Over and over,
And over again.

Someone once asked her;
Why she visited the tomb everyday,
To which she replied;
Gravely,
A sad distant smle
Briefly crossing her face,
"I promised."
