A True Friend (a modified poem)

by Jason   Jan 24, 2008

When I think of a woman,
I think of one that shows her love to me.
And when we make love,
We spend time having fun in bed.

But love is more than just having fun in bed.
Love is showing concern and giving her advice.
Love is in a heart that's deeply red,
And engaging in thrills with her is a vice.

But alas, that love with her is a moot point,
If she is not a true friend to me.
It would be nice to visit her favorite joint.
So she can spend time giving mental support to me.

When I want someone to talk to,
I want someone to give me support not just when my mother is sick.
Because when she's ready to go home,
I want a female friend who is welcome to talk to me frequently.

Hi Jason! Again this poem is very beautiful and somewhat creative, but I think it would be better as a free-verse because you have so much to say. I like the whole concept of it; and I can actually picture what you want in my mind. But, because of the shaky flow, it kind of throws me off track when reading it. Jason, I know that you have a wonderful talent hidden inside of you. Pull it out, pull me in with your writing. Captivate me and make me yearn to read more. I think you did a good job though, but I know you have better inside of you. I'll be watching for your new poem. : )

    Keep up the good work.

    Letty
