Not Letting You Go

by Paige Lea   Jan 24, 2008

I walked into the room this morning
The same as I had the last
A frown and stains running from my eyes
While thinking about the past

"Oh great" I thought so bitterly
"Another passing day"
The passing days are blending because
They've all been the same

I see him sitting there in the middle
Of the room with his guitar
I smile, so sweetly, hoping that he won't
Notice those two scars

He flashes that smile I've grown to love
"Good morning" he says to me
"Hello" I say as my reply
As nice as I can be

His friends come over, they talk awhile
I wave over to my own
I let my eyes wander the room
And I sigh with a loud enough tone

But then my eyes fall upon
An, oh, so familiar face
"I'll be right back" I say as I stand
And my heart begins to race

I finally reach him and hug him tight
He sways us to and fro
He starts to release but I'm latched on
"I'm not letting you go"
