The sacrifice of a star

How saddening is the birth of a star?!
It was such a miracle floating so far
A small rock levitating in the midst of the universe
Wishing that life doesn't go in reverse

It wanted to be more than just a rock
It wanted to be the reason for people to talk
So the rock in the sky wished for it every night
To be the most beautiful was it's delight

It wished for millions and millions of years
Until god made it a story which puts you to tears
The little rock in the sky began to inflame
While more volcano's erupted like a game

Into a twinkling ball of light it turned
Just like that it burned and it burned
But still its light to earth did not get
So it tried and it tried, its destiny was set

It got brighter still and yet didn't stop
Until it was heated so much it'd pop
So it burned so hard, it turned bloody red
And suddenly it burst, right there it was dead

It completed it did what it sought
But O what a shame how its destiny was brought
People all over the world did see
How tragic but wonderful the star could be

It risked its own life, a dream it fulfilled
And yet wasn't there to see what it did build
To lovers a star makes a language of romance
Stars are a symbol of greatness and chance

So many stars have risked there lives now
So how can a person not look and say wow
