Cinderella rides the bus (ballad)

by ♥*~»cutieladybug«~*♥   Jan 27, 2008

She jumped onto the 6am bus;
It was pouring rain outside,
With her leather boots and drenched dress
She walked up to him with pride.

"Excuse me sir," she said to him
"Can I sit beside you here?"
He coughed aloud waved his hand
And gulped his two - fifty beer.

Something about the way he was posed
Made her look toward her right,
"You look familiar,"She said to him
"You're mistaken,"He spat in spite.

She peered into his cold blue eyes
A broken smile splashed upon her face
As memories came rushing back to her
Those she hoped forever would erase.

And she said "How are you Lee?"
As he glanced at her in daze,
"Hello Miss Lilly, it's been a while,"
Said he with a sullen gaze.

It was somewhere in a fairytale
The story of two lovers did start
In high school years and summer days
Until the world tore them apart.

She promised they must have lunch soon
But he knew it would never last
And the moment she walked into the crowd
Was the moment he relived his past.

She loved him and he loved her;
A happy marriage was at the door,
Until greeted by his scornful parents;
Disappointed because they expected more.

He wasn't her knight in shining armor
Who believed and took a stand,
No, her prince charming cowered
And let love slip through his hand.

As she paced along the sidewalk
He knew this was his last chance
To fix everything he"d done wrong
And begin another romance.

This was his chance to redeem himself
To chase a dream once ignored
But as her shadow was no more
It was his beer he looked toward.

It was somewhere in a fairytale
The story of two lovers did start
In high school years and summer days
Until he broke her heart.

    Hiya,
    I loved reading this. I especially liked the way you used
    It was somewhere in a fairytale
    The story of two lovers did start
    In high school years and summer days
    Until the world tore them apart.
    and then again with a subtle change.
    Great
