Waking up to Your Deceit

by Viola   Jan 27, 2008

Hidden behind beautiful blue eyes
Was the love you never cared to feel
You held me through the cold of the winter
While the grayness in the sky closed my eyes
It's unfortunate I had to wake up
To you pleading for me to stay
You only offered me the bitter-sweet potion
That leaked out of my mind
Reminding me it's time to awake from this bad dream
Oh but how clever you were
Telling me I need you in my life
You hid your lies so well under your skin
Only now they're starting to crawl within
Creeping their way into your soul
It's really too bad that I found out
You could have gone living that way for a while
Now you're blaming me for the broken glass
Left on the ground in front of your feet
I guess you don't realize that every little shard
Is made out of your deceit
And when you're lying there cold and alone
Oh I hope you remember
That you can lie to everyone else darling
But you can't lie to yourself no more
