Painful Past

When the sun comes out,
Somehow, I'm never around to see it.
Gloomy days are all I know,
Wishing I didn't have to be here.

Dejection is a big part of my life,
Even on days I should be eager and gay.
Romance has no room in my heart,
For my sins, now I must pay.

I should have taken a different route,
Maybe things wouldn't be so bad.
I thought the world was in my hands,
But life passed me by so fast.

A family of my own is what I hope for,
Although it's not something I deserve.
Memories forever taking over,
Pulling the pain very close to the curb.

No more broken hearts or songs,
That lay openly before your feet.
Because if you loved me like I cherished you,
You wouldn't have had to cheat.

    It's a great poem where I can feel the sadness in your words. The flow of the poem is good.

    I mean it's great in terms of how it's written. I think a sweet lady like you should have never been the victim of a guy who cheated on you. Cheaters don't deserve to live period. They bring pain to the women they hurt...and this is evident on the WAY you express your words in here.

    Take care, and remember to keep your mind on positiveness within your life. But you still make a good poet even when you turn negativity into a poem.

    This is well brought up poem. full of pain and sadness with in the heart. the twist ending of him cheating was not expected at all. great write letty. SO many girls out there.. even some guys can relate to the pain with in your words. very heart felt. great work
