The Only Thing I Pray For

by A thousand broken hearts carried by a thousand broken wings   Jan 28, 2008

I can't feel my heart beating,
And I can't catch my breath,
I've lost myself in a daydream,
Of imagining my death.

It happens oh so sweetly,
In the darkness where I lie,
It's so quiet and peaceful,
Just how I want to die.

To feel as the goose bumps,
Do their dance across my skin.
To close my eyes and relax...
To finally be able to give in.

So tired of this burden.
I just can't do it anymore.
To fall asleep and not wake up,
Has become the only thing I pray for.

I don't want to go to heaven,
I just want things to end for me.
To stay in the blackness of death,
Wrapped in this peace for eternity.

I live each day that I'm here,
Hoping it'll be my last one,
Secretly dreaming of my death,
Waiting for the night when my life is done.
