I screamed at the top of my lungs,
no one could hear me,
you didn't listen,
you hit and you yelled,
couldn't you tell you were hurting her?
more me?
i couldn't stand it.
you fought all the time,
i tried so hard for you to hear,
was i invisible to you?
i wasn't even alive in your eyes,
i was just another mistake,
bruised from head to toe,
i couldn't stand the torment,
all you did was come home drunk
did you ever care?
you watched us pack up our stuff and leave,
you hit her for the last time,
she cried in the corner,
as i came home from school
i saw the cops put you in the car
i started to cry, but maybe this was good,
i never thought i would be out of my pain.

i do miss you,
its not easy growing up without a father,
