The Moment I Said It

by Jenni Marie   Jan 29, 2008

The moment I said it, you knew
Knew that you had power over me
Foolishly played right into your hands
Unaware all that was waiting was misery

Tell me why you did it, I have no idea
Do you really hate me so damn much?
Aren't you ever going to stop this
Don't you think you've done enough?

Each night I'm staring at the ceiling
Wondering where we went wrong
Praying that you'll come back to me
Can't do it alone...I'm not that strong

You've got me right where you want me
Begging, pleading for things to change
Why did I scare you with those words
Why couldn't things have stayed the same?

Guess that you scare just to easily
For when I whispered "I love you,"
Had no idea that you were about to leave
Or that you'd rip my heart right in two

This was a very sad piece, truly a heart tugger. I can relate 100%, I just went through something like this a month ago. It was amazing and very well written. Great job darling, keep it up! 5/5 <3 <3 <3

Omg! Really loved this poem! And it tells the truth right when a girl gets the courage to say I love you the boy leaves her. He thinks that since a girl loves him he should run. Seems like this boy is just scared. But anyways great flow and emotion. 5/5
