Bright Lights fade in the East, |
This poem is one of the few I've written recently which I dedicate to the Men and Women fighting the War in the East. I recently recieved word that one of my dear friends lost his life protecting a village from a Taliban attack. His commanding officer told me that he went in a flare though, and didn't leave us until he KNEW those people of the village were safe. Truly this man was a Hero by any standard, and I want others to know that there are more people just like this man still fighting and they need our support more than anything. I ask that anyone who reads this poem to NOT forget those men and women who served the People of the world selflessly and lost everything for it, and keep in heart and mind the people still out there. God Bless all. |
