Things Have Changed

Been a long year without you by my side
Always thought the pain would never divide
Never in a million years did I plan to talk again
But instead I took a chance and let you in

It's crazy how much things have changed here
We're all grown up with nothing left to fear
I have so much I want to ask, but dont know how
When the talking is done, I cant help but ask what now?

Do things like this just bandage themselves and heal?
Do I have to mend the wounds so I can stop and feel?
I'm still in shock at what you told me the other day
I never thought you'd be the one with a sorry to say

When I see you soon I wont know what to do
Is there some of what we left behind, still in you?
Will your eyes shine will hope or dull out with pain?
Is there going to be time for things to settle again?

I know I am not the same person I was before
I grew up and moved on to become something more
And it seems to me you have changed a lot too
The plans you have make me so proud of you

I know this sounds lame and I probally seem dumb
But our memories have stuck to me like old gum
I cant forget the good times no matter how I try
And honsetly, why the hell would I?
