Alone In Hell

She curls up in a ball
and cried herself to sleep,
dreaming of the promises
no one seems to keep.
And that's the night she took the pills
and chased them down with liquor
hoping for a night to pass
that she wouldn't have to remember.
Because that day was the same
filled with tears and sorrow.
Yesterday had come and gone
and the same will be said tomorrow.
But what difference does it make
as shadows corrupt her dreams?
The sweet and loving thoughts
were only replaced by me.
I'm the edge of the razor
and that candy smells of deceit.
Every secret that she holds
shall be mine to keep.
And I take her by the hand
and lead her to the hell of my own.
It's not much different from the world she lives
but at least she's not alone.
