The Cosmic Problem

by Soulful Ensemble   Jan 31, 2008

Don't try to cheer me up, I'm doing time
Studying the cosmic problem and doing just fine.
If I don't know the way out of this bind
Don't you try to help me; I'll be blind.
Covering my eyes so I dont see,
Your hands trying to liberate me.

I don't want your aid, it makes me cry
I want to take care of myself-- or just die.
In the past, I needed you, but you left
So now I'm here alone after the theft.

You say, "move on!"
I say, "you're sick!"
"You want me as your pawn"
"Just to get a kick."

I'm reading all the books I have
And looking for a cosmic answer.
You cut my heart in half
Like a dark blind dancer.

I have no patience though,
I've felt the pain enough.
I already took your blow
And have no time for fluff.

What's wrong with you, honey?
Why do you think I want your money?
Why would I want to suffer through you
After all the pain you put me through.

I'm not taking you again into my heart,
So you can think you're so smart.
I'm studying the cosmic problem this time
And I'll try to be just fine.
