Separated Hearts

Many months have passed
and still the pain in my chest hasn't left,
Just knowing that I can't see you everyday
makes me feel like I'm looking into the eyes of Death.
The pain I feel seems like it will never leave
unless you are by my side, standing right next to me.

Seeing your smile
and being able to absorb its glee,
is something I love to do,
its one of my favorite things to see.
With you so far away
your smile is something I can only see in my dreams,
and once i wake up,
its like my heart is sinking downstream.

Not being able to hold you close
or even give you a single hug,
makes my heart starts to ache
and feel like its being tugged.
Not being able to hold your hand
or feel any type of your grasp,
sends my heart another pain
forcing it to release a painful gasp.

Remembering the gentle touch of your lips
from the few times we have kissed,
makes my mind go insane,
and sends my heart into the mist.
I want to feel your love
flow into my heart,
but I'll have to continue waiting
until our paths are no longer apart.

The time separated from you
has made my love for you continue to grow.
