Never Really Were the One [To Keep Your Two Feet on the Ground]

I always said, "I'm holding onto forever, and I'm never letting go."
I used to mean it; I used to believe it too.
Back then, I could have fooled my heart to believe anything.

They say you always put some love on the line,
But I put my whole heart; I gave you my whole heart.
It never was enough for you though...
Or maybe you just never loved me back.

And now...
My heart is fluttering like your wings,
And the butterflies in my stomach remind me of you...
As you fly away.

I guess the time has come...
I shouldn't really be surprised,
And yet I am.

You know I can always be there for you,
But I can't only be there for you when you need me.
