Overlooking the hardened sea,
Seeing the future of a "what should have been"
Darkened coulds loom the sky
As brave white doves fly right by.
The rocky cliff on which I stand
Is slowly giving way without a helping hand.
Wind crashes to the waves; crashing to the cliff
I'm waiting for my heart to finally beat stiff
Staring up at the darkening sun
My mind wanders and my heart dances in its run.
Years agoI gave my heart away
I wait each hour, day by day
Hoping he'll return his love for me
But the brave white dove just passes by.
