No longer mine to keep

by kevin Boundy AKA the ghost   Feb 1, 2008

Trying to pull back the wall
That keeps us apart
My mind does not want to say goodbye
My soul doesn't want you to depart

I'm all for believing
That we can make this work
I'm losing my mind without you
I'm seconds from going berserk

So now you say
"We put it to an end this time"
I'm no longer yours
And you're no longer mine

Please don't say it
Because then that makes it true
How do you expect me
To try to live without you

It's like trying to breathe without air
Like trying to see without eyes
It's impossible I can't do it
So how can I say goodbye

But even though I can't go two days
Without hearing your sweet voice
I can't make you stay no matter how hard I try
Because it's not my choice

I can't live without your smile
I need to see your face
So by the time you come back
I'll be lost without a trace

Last time I saw you
Was in my sleep
You're gone and there's nothing I can do
Because you're no longer mine to keep

Great Poem! And thanks for reading my poem as well. Even if it didn't sound all that great! Keep up the good work.
