The Stars No Longer Pinned to the Black

by John Long   Feb 2, 2008

The stars no longer pinned to the black
Fell to the earth with a mighty crack.
Jagged shards, ugly and splintered,
Cold as love in it's stone grey winter.

But those that fell to the welcoming sea
Shone as floodlights for all to see,
Islands of light in the green and the blue,
Wave upon wave of kaleidoscope hues.

    John,

These were my favorite lines. You painted a very vivid picture her and I loved the imagery.
