Happy 14th birthday, It will soon be freshman year. We're growing up a tad too fast But please don't shed a tear. It's scary when you think Of all that we've been through And how we're now so wise Yet there's more to learn, it's true. Happy 14th birthday, It's not a number or an age. Is it an end or a beginning? Let's pause before we turn the page. 14 is when 8th grade ends And we leave it all behind; The drama, fads, and jealousy But there's so much that we can find. Happy 14th birthday, It seems just yesterday we were 10. I hope you forgive all my past mistakes And we can start again. We've all been known for oh so long, We're each other's other half; You can prove this statement Just take the time to do the math. And just because we're older Doesn't mean our friendship's over. The skies are turning overcast But know this laugh is not our last. Happy 14th birthday, Has it really been that long? We went from "boys have cooties" To "check out that sexy bod!" Please know our paths will cross And we will never lose touch. These memories are planted on our hearts To ease the pain that hurts too much. This is not the final goodbye, Just another chapter in our lives. We will talk, and laugh, and love Even when we're husbands and wives. We shall always have each other Until the very end, Now have a happy 14th birthday, My dear and special friend.
