Caught In Reality

In love with a boy
that lied to my face
distracting me by
such a soft, warm embrace.

I though he was different
but soon i'd find out
what the one boy
was really about.

Too lost in the gaze
of his beautiful eyes
to see the truth
through all the lies.

Locked on his face
was the smile I adore
just a simple way
to make me fall for him more.

He broke my heart once
Should've known it wasn't the first
having this kind of love
is a heart breaking curse.

I though we shared something special
But as time went on
I realized that your love
was long gone.

I tried to pretend
that nothing was wrong
I figured out things
I should've known all along.

I tried telling myself

Or the tears
that are soaking my shirt.

I tried avoiding the memories
to tune out my pain
tried to forget about you
to keep from going insane.
