R.

by Jacob M Parnell   Feb 5, 2008

Rapacious rapture,
Salacious zeal.
Its a familiar notion,
We all will feel.

The forbidden apple,
Upon The Garden of Earthly Delights.
It taunts our very being.
It follows us in the night.

The rake of desire,
The lust inside my brain.
She calls me by emotion,
And then she calls me by name.

She is the unlawful poison,
Which burdens my soul.
Fills me with temptation.
Then leaves me un-whole.

We joke about it harmlessly,
Occasionally it seems imminent.
But we never act upon our feelings.
We hide from our intent.

Its an understood lull,
Which neither of us can pursue.
A mutual lust,
Which we must subdue.

As this allure is augmented,
I cannot help but sit and dream.
Of that one unheeded night,
By which ive seen and seen.

Im vividly conscious of it.
For Ive played it over and over in my head.
That one faithless evening,
In which she resides in my bed.
