Forgiveness from a ghost

You creep into the shadows,
and whisper in my mind.
Whenever I'm alone,
its you that i find.

You tell me things i don't want to hear,
things that are bad.
Your pain and torture is killing me,
and all this makes you glad.

So one day i confront you,
when I'm sick of all your jokes.
Your presence is so heavy,
i feel as if I'm choked.

I'm angry now,
and full of rage.
You see this,
and try to lock my cage.

I try to fight,
and break the bars.
Bare wrists revealing
hidden scars.

And all through this,
you say nothing at all.
Knowing I'll never,
break through your wall.

Finally i give up,
and slump to the ground.
You smile with glee,
at the sight of my frown.

Tears fall down
as i start to cry.
When all i can say,
is "why?why?why?"

You crouch down beside me,
to tell me your story.
How someone betrayed you,
for goodness and glory.

As you finish speaking,
i cry again.
Feeling with you,
the grief and pain.

Knowing at last,
that you're no demon inside.
Just some lost soul,
with no where to hide.

I didn't think about,
how connected we were.
Just thought i was someone,
that you would prefer.

Turns out I'm the one,
who betrayed you and laughed.
I'm the one,
who pebbled your path.

So now I'll repent,
and hopefully you'll see.
That i would do anything,
if you forgave me.
