I should have loved you more

Leave me helpless and broken
I deserve to be in this hell
I took your love for granted
And created my own caged cell

I should have told you to stay
To never leave my side
But instead I let you walk
Walk right out of my life

I miss everything about you
The way you make me smile
The way you use to hold me
You made it all worthwhile

You showed me real love
Like I have never felt it before
You gave me all I needed
And now I only long for more

I know I am the one to blame
I did not love you enough
I don't know why I was blind
Why I didn't embrace your love

I've been hurt so many times
That I was afraid to believe
That your love was true
That you actually loved me

God, I was such a fool
And now my heart is unwhole
I am falling into pieces
And dying within my soul

    I can relate to this poem. It is great but it is also sad. The flow was smooth and the word choice was great. 5/5

    Again, well written - this poem is full of raw emotion and I enjoyed it for that. Good choice of topic as well, nicely done!
