Letters To Lovers Part One: Reasons I Love You

*this series of poems entitled "Letters To Lovers" are actual letters i wrote to my boyfriend, Dane, and each one tells a short story about how i love him, and what was happening at that point in our relationship.

Reasons

You're the only person ever
That asks if I'm okay,
And when I say I'm fine,
You look me in the eyes,
And say, "Don't lie."
That's why I love you.

You're the only guy ever
That's made me smile
By just walking in,
Just saying "hi,"
It makes me grin.
That's why I love you.

You're the only one ever
To make my heart race
With each little touch,
When nothing before
Has meant so damn much.
That's why I love you.

You're the only guy ever
To say "No way,"
When I say "Love you more,"
To look in my eyes
And ask "Are you sure?"
That's why I love you.

You're the only guy ever
To keep all my notes
Inside of your wallet,
All there together
In one little pocket.
That's why I love you.

You're the only guy ever
That responds to "Chuck Norris,"
Quotes Halo and South Park
In regular dialogue,
And has my whole heart.
That's why I love you.

AND you're the only guy ever
That's SO on my mind
That you're in my dream,
Which caused me to wake up,
And write this at three.
Had to tell you why I love you.
