They don't understand that when you're that low, when you can't see beyond yourself and your fallen-apart world, it's the little things that send you over the edge, not the big things. And sometimes it is the littlest things that keep you going too.

Loneliness. It's a thing, you know, not a feeling. A big, ugly thing that moves in and takes over until you forget how to live without it, but you can't live with it either.

You never recognize the big moments when they actually happen. It's only afterward when your life is going down the toilet, that you wish you'd had the foresight to smack your forehead and shout, 'He, back up there, pal!'
