Hope to die

Who gets to say what's normal?

The pen = my blade
the paper = my wrist
the ink = my blood

After you take your life
Trust that I will grab the knife
To show the world that you are missed
I'll use your blade and slice my wrist

Take my wrist
And slice straight down
Watch me fall
And let me drown

These scars that cage this body
Fail to express my pain
They are simply just reminders
That I can never be the same

Rhyme schemes are meaningless
Written down without a purpose
They don't lessen the pain inside
Or even bring it close to the surface

I've worn this mask for so long
That I can't remember a time before
The pain it hides keeps growing
And now it doesn't fit me anymore
