Sip, then swill, now guzzle-
Water, I plead, and I puzzle...
I put pen to paper,
But realize my hand...
Torn, folded, faded.
Austere dress, unsmiling face...
Blazing scarlet-
Precious gems by the scores...
Lying down atop downy fluff
Put there for my peace...
As we watched on in the silent night,
With not a hint of a source of light...
Lingering-
Smoke after the fire...
Dips, dives, twirls, spins;
Aerial acrobatics at the end of strings...
Empty seats.
Rows, waves, truckloads, boatloads...
Rushing, running, raving
Madly, blindly, haphazardly...
Help!
Help! he shouted from so far out...
My cruelty.
Laughable to even write...
