..he was sitting at the table with his friends
and i walked up to him, leaned over
kissed him on the cheek
and he smiled

I worked late last night..
&i was tired walking to my car
then i saw the bouquet of roses laid out on the hood...
with an envelope,
a card inside,

&i melted

watch him sleep a little
then start a pillow fight to wake him...

into the telephone

are his words
every time

*but she will always miss him more
