She gave her whole heart to someone who decided he didn't want it anymore

& sometimes I wonder why I'm never good enough

As she looks in the mirror at her tear soaken face she cant help but thinking, "this isnt what i asked for when i said i wanted love"

So tonight she will sit alone with only the vague memory of what they used to be

Him: how am i supposed to come see you? Its not like i can fly...
her: yes you can, all angels have wings

On a dirt road in the country
The stars light up the sky
Dancing in the headlights
A teenage lullaby

& before you she didn't know what it felt like to smile until her face hurt

& when they ask me how I'm doing, I'll pretend like you didn't completely shatter my heart and lie that I'm "Just fine"
