My eyes flutter open- wide they part
Due to the sudden pain in my heart...

Tonight I'm going to free my heart,
Tear away these desolate chains...

I've tried yoga, I've tried cooking,
But my heart still jumps when you are looking...

I grew up thinking life was sweet,
Sugar coated and pink like candy...

In the reflection, she stares right back,
Her eyes see blank and impassive...

I should be left isolated,
I'm so filled with anguish and woe...

You were my first real kiss,
I remember the feeling well...

Why do I still steal glances,
When you are in the room...

Sometimes I think maybe,
Maybe you were the one...
