One child,
Quiet does she sleep...
Floating in water,
sits one single child...
Walk a mile in another’s shoes,
the saying carried through generations...
I hide away,
Under the covers...
Voices boom across the radios,
Messages interrupt the television stations...
Black and white,
colorless lives...
She’s hiding away from you,
Behind the bathrooms locked stall...
A mouse pricked it’s ears,
rustles along the bramble his warning...
Screaming through the flames,
children are told they are the ones to blame...
As I leave will you say goodbye,
will you even pretend to cry...
Waters rising,
up past my ankles...
Run with all your might,
for the storm of light...
