The Gentleman
By Mark Spencer...
I can't hold this in,
I am splitting at the seams...
I tend to wrestle
with my emotions...
Please don't go away
Leaving me alone...
Silence is essential
silence is needed...
As sorrow drifts among my dreams
And night fades in to gray...
Shes feeling so low, not happy at all,
Her smile seems broken, she is ready to fall...
Branches move and sadly sway
Their farewell to this long day...
You’re sitting there beside me
But you seem so far away...
If things changed by closing our eyes
And only true love could silence screams...
&& if words were hard to find,
You just made them disappear...
Your imperfections have become quite amiable to me
And the desire to feel your love gets stronger...
Look away little boy, I am nothing to see.
You're dreams will be crushed if you don't listen...
I almost said I love you
As we hung up the phone tonight...
Dear Boy:
Well I'm writing this because I know you're out...
Against my skin plash the wetness below
Waters which are made up of tears...
Do you remember all those promises?
Do you remember those late nights...
Once i had you
and i had it all...
You sit there, happy and content
As you mock that your feelings of longing for me...
Red as a rose
Hard as a rock though soft around the edges...
Gasping for air
I open my eyes...
It must feel like a burden,
Knowing you're to blame...
He held my hand in public
Gave me kisses in the rain...
