Gasping for air
as I awaken that dream...
Fresh air enters my lungs
as I over look the roaring sea...
Sitting alone, without a trace
Trying to cover a heart broken face...
A ringing bell lingers forever in my ear,
taking its time to irritate my brain...
I can't believe how you treat me,
and how you always make me feel...
The tide is high; the sky is dimming
The salt water burns my eyes...
A beautiful boy once told me that I had the most...
He said they twinkled like the stars that lit up...
The sour smell from the onion,
never fails to make my porous eyes...
There's something I must ask, a favor if you will,
involving the heart broken one you're holding...
Life is so crude and yet
we try to live it in bliss...
A chuckle sounds from across the room,
but I don't even have to glance...
If only there was a way
to know what you were thinking...
