Today I'm caged - my wings are clipped,
In a prison of my own creation...
Once upon a winter's day,
I came upon a book...
On that new dawns breeze
I looked for you...
Forgiveness unto those
Upon dependence and cruelty...
We sank deeper down together,
And shied away from light...
Behind an innocent gaping mouth,
Lies a tunnel of despair...
Like a whisper through the morning rain
A shiver down my spine...
Something's pounding at my chest,
I cannot make it leave...
Do you know what it is to hate,
So much that your heart turns to thick, grey dust...
I wish I could of known you,
My darling hate's embrace...
I would cry a thousand tears for those whom I have...
But my worn tearducts are empty of water...
Fists are flying towards my face
But I must keep my cool...
